Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions

Your camper should dress appropriately for the weather each day (no sandals please) and should have a bag to store their belongings. Remember to include a water bottle, bathing suit and towel, snack, lunch, change of clothes, and sunscreen/bug spray if they can apply it themselves. Food should be non-perishable or include an ice pack (as refrigeration is not available) and be easy to open by your campers. We also have snacks and drinks available at lunch time for purchase. We recommend labeling items to ensure they are easily returned to your camper if lost.

We kindly ask that all personal toys, electronics, and valuables be left home during the camp day. This includes phones, smart watches, cameras, tablets, portable gaming systems, collectible cards, credit cards, large amounts of money, and jewelry. We cannot take responsibility for these items being lost, damaged, or stolen.

We provide a wide range of fun and engaging activities throughout the day, and our focus is on creating a safe and immersive environment for campers to explore, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. While we understand campers may feel more comfortable keeping electronic items with them, they can be a distraction and can interfere with the safety and interactive nature of our program.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us create a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers.

The first day of camp each session we ask that you escort your camper into the building. This is when you will find out which group they are in and where you can find them at pick up. Tuesday thru Friday you can take advantage of our valet service between 8:45 am and 9:00 am. Our staff members will be outside to assist your camper out of the car and into the building. Running late for drop off? A staff member will be at the cafeteria until 9:30AM for any late drop offs. After that time parents will need to contact the camp office to make arrangements to meet a staff member. During dismissal, which is between 3:15 pm and 3:30 pm, campers can be signed out at their cafeteria tables by anyone on the authorized pick up list who shows the counselor a photo I.D. For campers attending post camp 3:30 pm -5:30pm the pick up location will be at the gym entrance at the back of the building.

All medications will be collected by the Healthcare Supervisor at the beginning of each session and stored in a secure location in the office. All medications must be in the original package, have the campers name on them and the accompanying Medication Authorization Form (PDF) filled out.

Campers who are able to self-administer their own bug spray and sunscreen are permitted to keep these items with the rest of their belongings.

If assistance is needed by a staff member in either reminding the camper to apply these items or assisting the camper in applying these items, the bug spray and/or sunscreen will be treated as a medication. As such, a parent must fill out the Medication Authorization Form (PDF) and check-in the sunscreen and/or bug spray with the healthcare staff. These items must be in spray form and sharing between campers is not permitted (including siblings). Parents of campers needing assistance are asked to apply sunscreen and/or bug spray in the morning before camp and the healthcare staff will assist campers with re-application in the afternoon (typically after lunch)..

At InspireWorks our goal is to have all campers participate in our swim lessons, regardless of their swim ability. Our counselors and lifeguards work with campers to make sure that they feel safe and comfortable in the water. During the lesson portion of the swimming block we encourage campers to participate without the use of a life jacket. This allows them to fully experience the water and provides the opportunity to practice skills such as floating. During the free swim portion of the block swimmers can use their own life jacket if it makes them feel more comfortable. If you are sending a life jacket to camp please write your child’s name on it.

Although our facility is not peanut free, we do have a peanut free location in the cafeteria where campers can eat snacks and lunch. Allergies are also shared with the camper’s counselor to ensure a safe experience during activities that may involve food.

If you would like to make changes to the authorized pick up list, please complete and send us the Authorized Pickup Change Form (PDF)

We do not have a fridge or microwave available for camper use. Please plan all snacks and lunches accordingly.

When it rains during a camp day, campers still go outside for their regular activities. We ask that they change into their bathing suits as well as bring a change of clothes for the day. If there is a thunderstorm all campers are brought inside the building for alternate activities.

If a session or extended day program has reached capacity, we recommend joining the waitlist. It is free to join with no commitment. We do our best to accommodate children on the waitlist as spaces become available, but we ask you to understand the wait list is not a guarantee and depends on other campers changing their plans. To sign up for the waitlist CLICK HERE.
